Everything You Need To Know For Baby’s First Year Photos
Newborn
Some of the most important baby photos will be the first newborn portraits, typically scheduled between 7 and 18 days following their birth. I find this time to be ideal because your baby is still going to be pretty sleepy and flexible. Most likely, they are going to snooze the entire time! We can start the planning process before they are even born. We’ll discuss things like colors, how you plan to display the portraits, and your budget.
We can also chat over whether you want to schedule these pics in your home or inside my Woodstock studio. I can provide you with things like boutique wraps, bows, bonnets, and props. Additionally, you can pick from upgrades like adding siblings and family members, renting one of my couture gowns, and so much more! I’ll remind you of your session ahead of time, and once we’re done, we can discuss how you would like to receive your gallery.
Sitter Milestone Sessions
Once you have finished with newborn photos, it’s time to start thinking about baby milestone sessions. These are the baby photos that you will have throughout the first year, so you can document their growth and remember every amazing moment together! I always advise scheduling these at 3 months, 6 months, and 9 months. Just like with my newborn sessions, I’m going to provide you with everything you need. All you have to worry about is bringing a well-fed, well-rested, and happy baby! Once again, we can chat ahead of time about themes as well as upgrades such as additional subjects or Milk/Fruit Baths to end the session.
First Birthday & Cake Smash
Now, you’ve reached the biggest milestone of the whole year: your baby’s first birthday photos! It’s pretty wild just how fast those 12 months fly by. Luckily, you have portraits to remember every second. Now, it’s time to plan the cake smash pics! Just like with my other sessions, we can chat ahead of time to figure out exactly what you want this session to look like. I can guide you through everything from the color schemes to the best bakeries. You can also check my client wardrobe to find the perfect outfits! After your session, you can expect to get your pictures back in 5-10 days, and you can pick out which pictures you want to purchase. From there, I will edit them to perfection and give you heirloom-quality photos.
