Autumn is always a great time in Atlanta! We finally get a break from the heat, so of course, we’re going to emerge from our houses and go all out with celebrations. If you are looking for the best way to welcome in this time, you need to put a fall festival at the top of your list! As an Atlanta family photographer, I love working with parents to help them make memories all year round. Here are the fall festivals in Atlanta I think you will love!
1000 Robert E. Lee Blvd, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083
Each Fall, starting in September, Stone Mountain Park hosts their Pumpkin Festival just north of Atlanta. For a month and a half, you can come out to enjoy themed activities such as parades, pie-eating contests, a pumpkin light show, and the pumpkin tree lighting.
1500 McLendon Ave NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30307
Candler Park Fall Festival happens each year in Atlanta during the first weekend of October. The festivities kick off early Saturday morning. You can come by, grab some food, check out the local vendors, listen to music, and let your child explore Kidlandia. The festival is completely free to access!
50 N. Park Square NE, Marietta, Georgia 30060
HarvestFest and Scarecrows In The Square is hosted each year on the third Saturday in October. The Atlanta suburb town Marietta goes all out with fall festival games and activities for the entire family. Their kids’ festival is amazing! Your child can compete in a costume contest or explore a real-life fire truck.
2245 Callaway Rd SW, Marietta, Georgia 30008
If you haven’t been to the North Georgia State Fair, make this your year to fix that! This award-winning fair lasts for 10 days at the end of September. They have pretty much everything you could imagine, including rides, pageants, entertainment, and lots of delicious food. Just a heads up, there is a clear bag policy, so plan accordingly!
235 Castleberry Rd, Cumming, Georgia 30040
Each year, the Cumming Fairgrounds, a short drive from Atlanta, hosts their Fall Fair and Festival for ten days in October. This event draws in over 250,000 people for rides, concerts, and decadent fair foods. Whether you want to meet some adorable animals or watch a ground show, they have just the thing to help you celebrate the season!
800 Cherokee Avenue SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30315
Boo at the Zoo happens during the last two weekends of October. During your visit, you can take some photos at their stations, take your child trick-or-treating, and watch themed entertainment and activities. If your child wants to test out their costume, this is the spot to do it! The event is free with general admission.
