Learn The Best Time To Book Your Little One’s Milestone Photography Sessions
Tummy Time
After your newborn sessions, the next milestone pictures you will want to schedule a session for are during the tummy time stage. This is going to be around 3-4 months when your baby can be on their bellies without fussing too much. I love this time because it’s when your baby really starts to get interactive! They can hold up their heads and show off those adorable smiles. Plus, because they can’t really move around too much, it makes it easy to pose them throughout your session.
Sitter
Next up comes the sitting stage! This is when they can grab their toes and sit up on their own, unsupported, before they really start to crawl, and it usually happens around 6-8 months. During this time, they are filled with curiosity! They are constantly trying to learn about the world around them, and they are starting to reveal their personalities. If they aren’t quite sitting on their own at this point, don’t stress about it. We can find safe ways to pose them during their milestone photography session without having to worry about any falls.
On the Move
So, now that we have tons of pictures of your baby sitting still, it’s time to capture them moving around! The next milestone session I recommend for photography is the 9-month mark. Around this time, your baby is all about exploring their surroundings! They are pulling up on furniture, crawling around the house, and starting to attempt those first few steps. While the other sessions are going to be posed and still, these milestone pics will focus more on capturing the wonderful chaos of this time!
One Year
You’ve made it through a year with your baby. Now, it’s time to party! The one-year pictures will be a way to celebrate your child’s birthday while marking the transition into toddlerhood. I love going all out on these sessions, finding ways to honor this huge milestone! If you want to do a cake smash session, this is going to be the time to do it.
